ambivert builder / creative strategist / advisor for people exploring ideas just ahead of their time

I love to play co-captain to people who don’t settle for status quo.

Together, we bring shape and momentum to their ideas, so they can move with more consistency and conviction.

Depending on the season or the need, I might be more hands-on facilitating sprints, prototyping a first-of-its-kind function, or simply doing whatever’s needed to build what’s next.

Other times, I’m more of a thought partner for complex decisions, generating possibilities, or refreshing direction when focus gets foggy.

“Kristen is often working on wild and meaningful projects.

As a partner at Google Ventures, she scaled Design Sprints across a portfolio of 300+ startups. She helped launch a shadow CDC during COVID. Built first-of-their-kind teams and initiatives like Google’s Brand Studio, and cultural district + economic recovery programs for the City of San Francisco. She’s served as Head of Design Operations at Stripe, and co-founded the award-winning food brand The Sarap Shop. She now runs operations at Character Capital, and moonlights on special projects across tech, venture, and civic innovation.

Kristen’s always my first call when I’m at a turning point and need to figure out how to actually move forward—personally or professionally.

She has this incredible range. She can drop into any (often messy!) situation, and suddenly everyone’s clear on what to do AND having fun. She makes ambiguous work feel actionable, and she does it in a way that’s structured but never rigid.”

Ways to work together

  • For people who need a high-context sounding board and collaborative partner to think out loud, make sense of complexity, and map what’s next.

I’ve supported early-stage founders, seasoned execs, small business owners, freelancers, investors, and ecosystem builders through moments of curiosity, growth, reinvention, decision fatigue, and rerouting.

Offered as ongoing retainers, focused intensives, or one-off sessions like idea jams, decision-making deep dives, or even anxiety retirement parties. Here for whatever fits the moment.

  • A part-time, embedded role for building what doesn’t exist yet but needs to.

This is for founders and leadership teams in motion who need someone to step in, set direction, and bring an early-stage idea, function, or program to life. I operate like an internal co-lead—shaping strategy, standing up systems, and doing the actual building, especially when the work is ambiguous, cross-functional, or brand new.

I bring high-context thinking and high-range versatility from functions I’ve led and boosted: strategy and operations, brand and design, program development, innovation and AI, and culture and community-building.

Every engagement is scoped based on your stage, goals, and the kind of momentum you’re trying to create.

  • I facilitate Foundation Sprints, Design Sprints, and custom sessions, each one tailored to the situation you’re in, whether you’re kicking off something new or rerouting an existing roadmap.

Recent formats include identity-centered Foundation Sprints and emerging work around Ecosystem & Influence Mapping—designed to help leaders build power-aware, relationship-centered strategies that make their movements more sustainable and way less lonely.

All of my sprint work integrates frameworks I’ve helped develop with the greats at Google Ventures, cultural leaders, and civic orgs.

  • A 60-day structured system for turning “someday” ideas and side quests into real personal experiments.

This is a rev on Google’s 20% model, which I’ve used dozens of times to explore my own interest and help others do the same.

Great for trying things without the pressure to perform or quit your job. Just a time to indulge in curiosity, creativity, and encouragement to explore.

  • A 6-month program for early-stage, first-gen, or second-wind entrepreneurs ready to build something rooted in identity, place, creativity, and community.

ACE blends business development with culturally-affirming coaching, technical support, and access to funding. We help you move from idea to prototype to full launch, with practical tools and hands-on collaboration with seasoned experts. Whether you’re starting a brick-and-mortar business, launching a new service model, or building something else bold and community-centered, ACE meets you where you are—and helps you grow from there.

In a rapidly changing world, we need more kinds of anchors. Not just someone who stays put, but those who set the tone, build momentum, and become a gravitational pull for others to gather, grow, and imagine what’s possible.

The traditional anchors—institutions, landlords, gatekeepers—have played their role. ACE supports those craving another model for the future we’re stepping into: Anchor Creative Entrepreneurs who shape culture, create connection, and become steady forces in the spaces they care about most.

We’ve piloted ACE in San Francisco over the past two years, where select participants are eligible for up to $20K upon signing a commercial lease. We’re now expanding to include a small national cohort of founders who share the ethos of the program.

  • A 12-week self-management and entrepreneurial skills program to help you get back in the driver’s seat of your life.

For people at a turning point—post-burnout, mid-sabbatical, pre-transition, or just done living on autopilot, on someone else’s terms and timeline. You’ll revisit foundational concepts and learn new language and practices to move with more agency, confidence, and peace of mind.

The program integrates IPEC’s leadership and energy framework with adaptations from my work in venture capital, design thinking, and culturally-affirming entrepreneurship. There’s plenty of low-pressure space to explore what you need to feel more capable navigating what’s next.
